EFSAC is the European Fire and Security Advisory Council. It is the umbrella organisation of the European associations active in the field of fire protection and intrusion protection. EFSAC was founded in Brussels in 1990.

During the last general assembly of EFSAC on March 10, 2009, Mr. Vik Kimpe, managing director of Saval BV, was elected as the new president of EFSAC for the upcoming two years.
Earlier in september 2008, Mr. Vik Kimpe was also elected as the president of Eurofeu, the European Association of Manufaturers of fire protection equipment, systems and fire trucks, and as such representing Eurofeu in EFSAC.
The European insurance industry with its association CEA as well as the European fire protection industry with its associations Eurofeu and Euralarm are members of EFSAC. EFSAC has the duty to coordinate CEA documents with the industry. If Eurofeu and Euralarm approve those documents, EFSAC will issue a so-called EFSAC endorsement with the result of turning those documents into European standard. This illustrates the importance of EFSAC and the significance of Vik Kimpe functioning as EFSAC president.
